Threads & Whiskers: The Love Cat
The Love Cat is a celebration of warmth, friendship and the joy found in handmade things. Inspired by the Japanese tradition of boro and a love of slow stitching, the original artwork was created from thoughtfully chosen pieces of 100% Japanese cotton in beautiful indigo tones.
Hand-worked sashiko stitching is combined with delicate embroidery, while hearts, flowers and layered fabrics add playful details that invite a closer look. Every stitch was sewn by hand, creating a richly textured artwork that celebrates both Japanese textile traditions and the simple pleasure of making.
