Description
This is a gorgeous and practical addition to your home — a hand-stitched placemat.
The design is called ‘shippo-awase’, a traditional Japanese sashiko pattern variation meaning “seven treasures blend” or a combination of overlapping circles symbolizing endless prosperity, harmony, and interconnectedness.
The top layer is sarashi muslin, stitched in beautiful blues with some lame thread in the centre section, it will surely brighten your table.
The placemat is finished with lightweight interfacing and backed with beautiful azumino cotton that has the most beautiful texture. Everything is 100% cotton, it can be machine washed and, like all hana fukin, will become softer and softer with use and washing. You can use it either way up.
Size: approximately 31 cm x 45 cm (tray sized!)
